Before / After / and In Between

There is something different between the first picture and the second one,and the explanation is in the third one ! Pics I took in May,07 in my shed.
I am trying to learn how to work with the new set-up that someone (my stinker son) installed on my computer. I have vista on my system now,and I have apparently lost a lot of things in change. My mind seeming to be one of them!
Well I will try to learn to work with what I have, but this old dog-new trick stuff is a real pain in the rear. Good to feel up to working at it anyway!
Peace be with you all,
Carl Sr.

A celebration after a week long hospital stay

YouTube - Dancing? or something close to it!

SEE ABOVE, please click on the YouTube link to see me and the Mrs. ,Dancing?or something close to it.
I wasn't able to get my video to load here.
So I did the next best thing and put the link to my You-Tube video on Mysight.
The vid is jerky and inconsitent, but you will get the general idea!
I was sick with the effects of salmonella for about three weeks total.
I lost about twenty pounds from my 150# self.
But,thanks to some fine friends and neighbors I have gained all of that back now.
May God bless you all with good things,
carl

Tired old shed,with bamboo

Remember-if you care to see more detail just click on the pic. A view from the east side(back)of my tired old shed.Complete with 'sentry!' From west north-west.All my junk included.
My favorite view and the one most neighbors and passers by see. This is taken from the south side and you can see how my bamboo keeps things pretty private out there for me!

A short trip out to the island

Something almost rare for me,a drive over to the island. It only takes three to six minutes to get there from my home, but I seldom cross the bridge.
This day,I was on a mission to collect a few sea-shells for a class of Michigan third grade students.I had a fine time crawling around in the sand, looking for little treasures.
I also had the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of my surroundings.EVERY time I go out there,I wonder why I don't go more often.
I hope the students get even a tiny taste of the way it makes me feel to be on the island. Some evidence of the awesome power of nature.
Broken bridges, like hearts, can eventually be mended.
A snapshot of puppy love.
When your world is very small.
There is no hunger,
no war,
no politics.
Only each other.

Sometimes it can be so tough to remember when life was so simple.
But it is still easy for me to see the beauty and miracles that surround me daily.

More from New Years Eve

You can explore the shed pretty well if you click to enlarge the photo.

Carl Jr. and Toni, still in love after almost four years.
As you can see,we are quite the sophisticated family;)
More and more folks showed up during the day and night.
Plenty of beer,bottle rockets,and barbecue!
I think our celebration lasted for around fifteen or sixteen hours.
We are fortunate to have some very fun and friendly neighbors!

Lately.......

This about sums it up for me for the last few days. I am in need of some peace and quiet.
Ever feel the need for that? Nothing major going on,just some residual holiday stress I guess.
Did you know that even happy life events cause stress? How about that.

Talent contest at Church

This was a while back.My friends Michael and Jim,danced while I sang 'Man of Constant Sorrow'.
The version from the movie "Oh Brother where art thou".
We had a blast and so did the crowd!
After that 'act',I played my guitar, and sang "She'll be Coming 'round the Mountain".
P.S.I wore my regular church clothes, and they bought outfits.

one of my nights out

On one of my nights out,in the yard,I found 'Cammie' up a tree.
Sorry ahead of time, but there is something I just have to say!
"Hello. Is any-birdie home?"
I made the house out of scraps, and my Daughter-in-law(Toni) did the painting.
I must have 5 or 6 of these in my trees.

Not actually related, but a thought I would like to share.
"A lot of alliteration"
Sometimes,I selfishly seek serenity in solitude.
I seldom succeed.

Cold night,hot stove

Well these pictures sure aren't in the right order!but, the reason my oak fire in the shed stove is rare,is because I can't bring myself to burn some of that beautiful firewood! I have turned some of it into treasures for me. That little wire Jet with Ed in front is for one of my dead buddies,Ed Jet!One of my dearest friends ever!
A cold night in the 'shed'. We sauteed some small scallops over coals. With garlic, lemon, and butter,of course.

We had a "rare" oakwood fire,in my stove made from an old water heater.

That old G.I. tool box,(left) is from my Daddy's days in the Army Air Corps.

My neighbor Tom,took this photo with his phone,I think. It was so cold that night, must have been in the 30's.

Cammie. She is difficult for me to focus on. And she can hide in plain sight. Blue bench is recycled pine and cypress, and is around 20 years old.
